Directions for Use

General Directions

Vaccinate healthy cattle: Ensure cattle are healthy before vaccination to ensure effective protection from targeted diseases.

Rehydrate vaccine properly: Use provided liquid bacterin to rehydrate freeze-dried vaccine; mix thoroughly before use.

Administer intramuscularly: Inject 2 mL of the rehydrated vaccine intramuscularly for optimal effectiveness and absorption.

Follow Beef Quality Assurance guidelines: Administer the vaccine in the neck muscle region, as per quality assurance standards.

Primary Vaccination

Initial 2-mL dose: Administer a single 2-mL dose to all breeding cows and heifers 1 month before breeding.

Timing is critical: Ensure vaccination occurs about 1 month prior to breeding or herd integration for effectiveness.

Second dose of Vibrio/Leptoferm-5®: Follow up with a second dose of Vibrio/Leptoferm-5® 2-4 weeks after the first.

Revaccination

Annual revaccination: Historically, it was recommended to administer annual revaccinations with this product for ongoing protection.

Consultation recommended: The need for booster vaccinations has not been established; consult a veterinarian for guidance.

Precautions

Avoid use in pregnant cows: Do not use in pregnant cows unless vaccinated with specified vaccines within the past 12 months.

Do not vaccinate nursing calves: Refrain from using the vaccine on calves nursing pregnant cows unless their mothers were vaccinated recently.

Calf age restriction: Do not vaccinate calves under 3 months of age to ensure safety and efficacy.

Ensure safety in pregnant cattle: Heifers must get at least 2 doses, with the second dose 30 days prebreeding.

Proper storage: Store the vaccine between 2°-8°C to maintain potency and effectiveness.
