Aspen Alu-Mend Spray Bandage is a water-resistant aerosol spray bandage designed for use as a topical wound barrier in small and large animals, including dogs, cats, horses, cattle, goats, sheep, and swine. Its aluminum powder formula sprays on as a liquid and dries quickly to form a breathable, protective film that shields wounds from dirt, debris, bacteria, and insects, while allowing oxygen in to support natural healing.

How to Use

Directions for Use

Shake Well: Shake the can thoroughly before each use to ensure the aluminum powder is evenly distributed throughout the formula.

Clean the Wound: Thoroughly clean the area to be treated to remove any dirt, debris, or contaminants before applying the spray.

Spray a Thin Layer: Cover the area to be protected by spraying a thin, even layer of Alu-Mend.

Allow to Dry: Allow the spray to dry naturally; it dries quickly to form a flexible, breathable, water-resistant film over the wound.

Reapply as Needed: Reapply as needed after wound inspection or when the protective layer begins to wear off, or as directed by a veterinarian.

Precautions

Avoid Eye Contact: Avoid spraying in the animal’s eyes.

Product Stains: This product stains; avoid contact with hands and clothes during application.

Flammable Contents: Contents may catch fire. Do not smoke, do not puncture, and do not burn. Keep away from flames such as pilot lights and any object that sparks, such as an electric motor.

Use in Ventilated Areas: Use only in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhalation of aerosol propellants during application.

Do Not Use on Deep Wounds: Should not be used on deep or puncture wounds and wounds that need to drain. Consult a veterinarian for treatment of severe or infected injuries.

Storage: Store away from heat and open flame. Do not store at temperatures above 122°F (50°C).

Possible Side Effects

Staining: The aluminum powder formula can leave a visible metallic stain on skin, fur, clothing, and surrounding surfaces; take care during application.

Eye Irritation: Accidental spray into the eyes may cause irritation; rinse thoroughly with clean water if contact occurs and consult a veterinarian if irritation persists.

Skin Sensitivity: Occasional skin sensitivity to the aerosol propellants or aluminum powder may occur in some animals; discontinue use and consult a veterinarian if any unusual reaction is observed.
